Signing of Memorandum of Understanding with Shinryo Corporation
KAICO Co., Ltd. and Shinryo Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Takeshi Kagami, hereinafter referred to as Shinryo) have agreed to work together on a project involving silkworms by signing Memorandum of Understanding on February 28, 2025.

The partnership aims to build a cooperative system for silkworm rearing, product development, and sales. KAICO is working on turning silkworms into “edible vaccines” using their protein production capabilities, while Shinryo has created a system for mass breeding silkworms. The partnership will combine their technologies and expertise.
The first project will focus on producing “KAICO Powder,” which supports pig immune systems. From April, Shinryo will supply silkworm pupae to KAICO, who will process them into a feed additive for pigs, first launching in Vietnam. With Shinryo’s consistent supply of pupae, KAICO can produce the powder year-round.
The companies will continue to collaborate, aiming to create oral vaccines for humans and use silkworms in biopharmaceuticals.
